OnePlus is expected to release its first-ever foldable phone. As per the speculations go, the device will land in the first half of August this year. But as OnePlus did not confirm the device’s name, the rumor mills are currently calling it by different names. For example, some are calling it the OnePlus Fold, while others are calling it OnePlus V Fold.
No matter what the case is, in a new report, Steve Hemmerstoffer, a very reputed tipster, has unveiled the latest CAD renders of the device. So, if you are looking forward to seeing OnePlus launch the V Fold, be ready to get your early fix!
As far as looks go, the leaked renders showcase that OnePlus has meticulously designed the V Fold. The leather finish on the rear shell is the main highlight, giving the device a premium look and feel.
Additionally, the V Fold renders reveal a slightly raised circular camera housing. Seeing the size of the housing, I believe OnePlus is likely working with a large sensor. Well, rumors suggest the same! That is, the first fold phone of OnePlus is expected to ship with a Sony IMX890 sensor. It is a 50 MP sensor with OIS support. Moreover, rumors suggested that the phone will debut with 32 MP periscope zoom and 48 MP ultrawide sensors on the back.
Reports have also revealed that V Fold will sport a 6.5-inch AMOLED external display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 32 MP selfie shooter.
The internal display of the OnePlus V Fold is rumored to be an 8-inch AMOLED screen with LTPO technology, boasting a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera cutout for the internal display is expected to house a 32 MP or 20 MP sensor.
The OnePlus V Fold is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. These are some great specs if you ask me. And in terms of battery, the device is expected to ship with a 4080mAH cell. It will likely have 50W wireless and 80W wired charging speeds.
Of course, as it is a flagship device from OnePlus, the V Fold will come with Android 13 out of the box. And there will be OxygenOS 13.1 on top. Rumors also suggest that Oppo will sell the same device with Find N3 naming. But we will need to wait and see whether that actually happens or not.
That said, as all the information here comes from rumors and leaks, you should take it with a grain of salt. Nothing is official until OnePlus confirms it through official announcements.
